πŸ§‘πŸ½β€βš•οΈ Doctor

I'm a doctor working in Oxford and recently started my training in surgical histopathology, which involves looking at specimens from patients on a cellular level to diagnose disease and advise treatment.

During medical school at Cambridge University, I created askCamDoc to help medical students do the best they can. So, if you're a medical student, click below for more specific advice.

πŸ“Ί YouTuber

I started my YouTube channel during my final year of university back in 2020, with the aim of helping others do the best they can. I had a really confusing time in education and struggled a lot to figure out what to do, if I was doing it right and if there was a better way. Over time, I gained a lot of experience by learning from my mistakes, others and evidence based guides. I also found out that I had a nack for writing things like personal statements and essays.

So I started sharing my advice on YouTube + TikTok and over 3M people seemed to have gained a lot of value from it.

πŸ§‘πŸ½β€πŸ« Tutor

I started supervising neuroscience back in 2017 during my 4th year of medical school, straight after I graduated with a triple first from Cambridge University. I didn't have much experience of teaching back then, but I knew I had a passion for it. Then, in 2020, I moved to Oxford for my junior doctor years and started tutoring neuroscience at Oxford University. This experience got me involved with examining for Oxford University and eventually becoming Director of Studies for the first year medical students at Harris-Manchester College, Oxford University.

Over time I've developed tools, strategies and techniques to simplify complex topics and communicate them in a way that is fun and easy to learn. These skills spill into my videos and courses, making them the ultimate one-stop masterclasses.

πŸš€ Courses

My Personal Statements have gotten me into Cambridge and Harvard University as a student, and into Oxford University as a tutor.

My Essays have gotten me a first class grade every year, earning me a triple scholarship at Cambridge,

I don't personally think that I am smarter or better than anyone else, but clearly I know some things about writing excellent Personal Statements and Essays.

99% of what I know is on the internet totally free for you to use to help you do the best you can. But for a more structured, detailed approach, you might like to check out my online courses.

Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions. I’ve got answers.

How did I get into Cambridge, Oxford and Harvard?

I got into Cambridge in 2014 to study medicine. Then, in 2019, I was accepted for an observership at Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital as part of my elective. Then, in 2020, I was hired as a tutor and now Director Studies at Oxford University.

I owe it hard-work, support from teachers, friends and family. Oh and a lot of luck. But the experience taught me how to write Personal Statements that make you stand out and also how to interview effectively

How did I get firsts and scholarships every year?

I got a first every year, earning myself a triple scholarship at Cambridge by writing great essays and designing an effective study routine.

How do I find time to tutor and make content to help others?

I'm not going to lie, this one is hard. Making time for each of my passions and responsibilities is hard. I don't always get it right and some times I do less of one when another deserves more time. I have periods of intensity where I have to make sacrifices and then I have periods of sustainability

Ultimately, I love everything I do. It's fun and I get to help people. That's what keeps me going.
